This section comprises of paintings and drawings that were inspired by remnants of automobiles left behind in junkyards.

After learning to weld, my paintings started to expand into the three dimensional realm. Utilizing pieces from the junkyard, rusted metal is taken out of the junkyard context and granted a new aesthetic value.

Rust is a random pattern that is not only beautiful, but is also a natural state of transformation as manufactured objects succumb to nature’s process of decomposition.

My painting technique, in either oil paint or gouache, is multi-layered. Thinning down the paint with linseed oil or water, I build up multiple layers of paint to create dark ground initially, then 'fight back' with thin white paint to create a 'push & pull effect'.
