JUNKYARD DRAWINGS
I draw with black and white charcoal sticks and pencils on black or colored paper. I handle charcoal in a detailed manner, exaggerating the rust patterns that I see in my photographs. Rust on metal is as natural as wrinkles on skin to reveal age and fragility.
My drawings are not merely sketches for future paintings, but are artworks that stand alone. I create all the frames for the finished drawings, either from metal or wood.
