I absorb all the images that surround me on a daily basis, often documenting my surroundings with my camera and bringing them back to the studio.
While living at my family's shore house in New Jersey in 2005, I often found myself at Long Beach Island when the beach was empty in the winter. I was drawn to the parks and walking trails while living in Southern Illinois in 2005-2008, and was intruigued by the geological formations that made the trails trecherous at times.
Now that I have lived Minneapolis since 2008, I discover the Twin Cities via riding the many bicycle trails and observe my surroundings that vary from post-industrial to wilderness. I'm reminded of the city's rich history from the former factory buildings that have been abandoned and reinvented.
